Before you can try out, you must be on the team Email list. The names on this list are used to check eligibility. If you do not have a VHSL physical, have not done the proper registration and are not green on the eligibility list, you cannot tryout. These Item must be taken care off before August 1.
2. Athlete must have a completed and approved physical by July 28, 2022. Submit physical digitally to firstname.lastname@example.org
All athletes have to complete all four days of tryouts in good standing, meaning participate in all scheduled activities from beginning till the end. Not doing so will result in a Strike per day. The only acceptable excuse for missing a day of tryouts is being excused by Coach Reed in advance.
Requirements to make the team
1. Run 20 minutes without stopping/walking on 8/1/2022
2. Receive less than 3 strikes during tryout week. See below for violation list:
All athletes must have proper running shoes and at least 32oz of water. Athletes without proper running shoes, 32oz of water or both will be sent home and receive 1 strike.
Documentation submitted prior to tryouts. Athletes not eligible to tryout, but appearing at tryouts will be sent home and will receive 1 strike.
3. All athletes will participate in a 4 lap/1600 time trial on Thursday August 4th.
Boys cutoff – 10 minutes
Girls cutoff - 12 minutes
Athletes that do not hit the cutoff or do not finish will receive 1 strike. If you collect three Strikes in the four days of tryouts a coach will inform you of your status.
